Karla founded The Horwitz Group and has spent almost 25 years helping companies in diverse industries solve their financial and accounting issues. Her experience includes CFO roles at companies in transition, such as PopCap Games and Click Wine Group, as well as Manager/Partner of the advisory practices at Arthur Andersen and Tatum.
Karla helps her clients at a strategic financial level, assisting them in securing financing, positioning them for future transactions, and helping them to expand internationally. She has deep experience in the technology sector but has also worked with companies in the consumer packaged goods, real estate, and hospitality and entertainment industries.
Terry specializes in Controller/Accounting Manager-level accounting leadership, process improvement and budgeting. For over 22 years, she has provided accounting services to emerging, small and mid-sized companies. She is especially effective in developing processes and increasing efficiencies and controls. Terry has also successfully built and managed teams that assist companies through due diligence, audits and tax preparation.
Jack Groban & Associates is a boutique, retained executive search firm founded in 1989. The Firm, which was merged into AT Kearney Executive Search in 1993, was reestablished in 2002 and has affiliated partners in Los Angeles, Chicago and San Diego.
Mr. Groban has over 30 years of experience in executive search. From 1993 thru 2001, he was Managing Director of North America and the America-West Region of AT Kearney’s Executive Search division. He additionally established and managed their global CIO Search Practice, and was elected an officer of the parent company, EDS.
Mr. Groban previously served for 6 years as head of the Executive Search and Human Resource Consulting practices of PriceWaterhouseCoopers in Southern California; and for 7 years as Managing Partner of Boyden International’s Los Angeles office, a top-six executive search firm with 33 offices worldwide. He began his career as an account coordinator with J. Walter Thompson Advertising, and in human resources with Pacific Life Insurance.
Mr. Groban received his BA Degree in Advertising from San Jose State University, and MBA Degree in Organizational Behavior from the University of Southern California. He has taught courses in human resources, organization/workforce planning, and labor relations at UCLA and USC, has been a frequent contributor to publications and conferences, and has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, CBS News, and numerous professional publications.
